Department Discription

Studies in the Arts at ECA are based on the concept that God has created humankind in His own image, giving him the ability to percieve, reflect, imagine, communicate, and create using the images and ideas of his environment and community. These activities are good in that humans always demonstrate their dependance upon the Creator and His gifts every time they use these God-given abilities. There is a danger, however, any time that this creativity defaces, deforms, or destroys the creativity of another (including God's creation). As ECA students develop their understanding in this subject area, it is hoped that their study and experience will lead them to be selective and thoughtful in their choices of art and styles of personal communication and interaction.

Music is a part of this department, but has it's own department philosophy, pages and links.
