Letter from Evan Evans, the Boarding Administrator at Dakar Academy (Senegal) and the co-instigator of the Senegal 2007 mission trip. -- also see our daily schedule HERE.

Dear friends:

Greetings from Dakar where we are about to embark on the biggest outreach adventure of our missionary career, and boy, do we need your prayer support!!! We have invited a group of 25 students and 4 staff from the Evangelical Christian Academy in Madrid, Spain to join us in ministry.. They will be arriving this Fri. and will be here for 9 days. We have arranged for them to take part in various ministries here in Dakar for a few days and then next weekend (Thanksgiving weekend) they will be joining over 100 students and staff from Dakar Academy in going to minister in and around the village of Sass, about 4 hours drive from Dakar. It's going to be quite an adventure to be taking over 130 people into a bush village to live and minister for the weekend. Please pray for all the logistics involved in feeding, transporting, and coordinating all the details for a group this size. We are praising the Lord for the Senegalese believers in Sass who will be partnering with us for this evangelism/building weekend. We have at least 10 Senegalese pastors as well as lay people who we will be partnering with in that area. We are happy to report that the chief of Sass is a believer and will be supporting us in our efforts. Here are our ministry projects that we will be involved in during the day:

* digging and pouring a foundation for the church building
* putting a roof on the pastor's house
* making 1600 bricks BY HAND for the church walls
* medical team
* drama team
* VBS team
* building benches for the church
* painting another church in a nearby village
* digging a septic system
* prayer walking in outlying villages

In the evenings, we will be holding our main evangelism campaigns in Sass which will include drama, music sung in French and the local language, evangelism film projection, and preaching. In addition to this, we will have 2 small groups going out with Senegalese evangelism teams to show films and present the Gospel in outlying villages.

To our knowledge, this is the first time that two ACSI international schools from different continents have joined together in a missions outreach of this nature. Both schools have experienced some counter attacks by the enemy to distract us and discourage us. We need your prayers for protection and anointing. We ask you to pray boldly and with a sense of anticipation that God will go WAY BEYOND WHAT WE CAN ASK OR IMAGINE and the floodgates of heaven will burst wide open as we go out to Sass and proclaim the name of Jesus.
