I Tim 4.12

Our theme for 2007-2008 is service. This focus is to remind us that our real purpose on earth is to serve God's kingdom by serving others and our reward is guaranteed by God! Ephesians 6:7-8 says, "Serve wholeheartedly as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free." (NIV)

Our friend, Ellis Potter, came in May to speak in one of our last chapels of the year. He gave us a great challenge regarding what it means to be like Jesus. You can listen to him at potter5-16.mp3.

The name for this page comes from our spiritual theme for 2004-2005 centered on 1st Timothy 4:12. We learned that we are never too young (or too old!) to be an example; and that what we say, do, and how we think shows others what's on the inside!

Senegal 2007 is complete! There is more info on the Mission Trips Page.

We are now raising funds for the "Dream BIG!" project. Go to: Dream BIG! for more information and to donate.

  • Leadership Training at ECA

Goals of Leadership Training at ECA:
    1. Continued integration of leadership concepts within the student body and school community
    2. Expansion to include other students interested in leadership development
    3. Training students to teach other students in a “safe environment”
    4. Training of next year’s leadership team (with the option for 5 students to attend SLC in Budapest in October)

Leadership is primarily INFLUENCE: "Others have impacted my life based on their relationship with me, so I want to develop relationships with others that will impact them for Christ."

    1. Spiritual formation gives the leader authority - what to say
    2. Skills formation gives the leader capacity - how to say it
    3. Strategic formation gives the leader longevity - when to say it

    Announcements:

What is a leader? - Am I one? - How do I become a leader?

Our 6th year of leadership training begins in August 2008. Mr. Madsen will be teaching the sessions along with those students who have previously attended the training. Anyone in grades 9 – 12 is welcome, weather or not you are considering application for the next leadership conference.

Applications for this year’s SLC team are now available on-line and are due on May 30th.
Applications will be reviewed by all secondary teachers and chosen based upon attendance at the training, personal testimony, demonstration of leadership potential, consistency in academics, and general attitude. If you are worried about any of these areas, now is the time to begin improvement! Attendance at the training sessions does not guarantee acceptance to the SLC team! The SLC team is limited to 5 students and is based on the application process and a financial commitment of about 400€.
