Testing
ECA hosts CollegeBoard’s PSAT, SAT, and AP Exams. More information about each can be found below. For any questions, please contact Miss Angela Bredeman at guidance@ecaspain.com. You can also find more information about these exams on CollegeBoard’s website.
SAT
ECA is a registered SAT testing center. All registrations take place through CollegeBoard’s website. When searching for this testing center, fill out identification information first, then choose a date, then locations will appear. ECA will be on the first or second page of available testing sites.
ECA is hosts the SAT throughout the school year. The SAT Exam is held digitally and students will take it on a device they bring to the testing center. More information can be found on CollegeBoard’s website.

The exam starts at 8 am and students should arrive between 7:30 and 7:45 am. They will need to bring their exam ticket (printed or digital), a photo ID, and the device they will use to take the exam (please refer to CollegeBoard’s website for instructions on how to download and set up the testing app). Students will not be admitted to the test center if they do not have a photo ID. There will be breaks between sections of the exams and students are encouraged to bring water and a snack. The exam will last until approximately 11:00 am.
AP Exams
Students can take AP classes, which will prepare them for taking the corresponding AP Exams. Taking AP Exams is beneficial for students because a passing score on an AP Exam (3, 4, or 5) can earn them college credit.
Non-ECA students may take AP Exams at ECA, but only those that are already being offered.
Registration for taking AP exams at ECA is open between October 1 and March 15.
*Between November 15 and March 15, registration will include a $40 late fee.
ECA typically offers the following AP Exams:
- English Literature and Composition
- English Language and Composition
- Spanish Language and Culture (seats are limited)

ECA can offer up to two additional AP Exams each year, depending on what exams students enrolled at ECA are preparing for (either through an online class or on their own). To check the additional exams ECA will offer, please email Miss Bredeman.
PSAT
Non-ECA students are permitted to take the exam with us! PSAT/NMSQT testing takes place in October. Contact Miss Bredeman by September to register.
Students are encouraged to take the PSAT during 10th and 11th grades. The PSAT is helpful for:
- Practicing for the SAT
- Enter National Merit Scholarship corporation competitions for recognition and scholarships
- Assessing skills in critical reading, mathematical reasoning, and writing
- Getting specific suggestions on how to improve skills
- Comparing academic skills with those of other college-bound students
- Asking colleges to send you information
- Getting information about college majors and careers

They may bring an acceptable calculator (please refer to CollegeBoard’s website to check if your calculator is approved). There will be breaks between sections of the exams and students are encouraged to bring water and a snack. The exam will last until approximately 11:00 am.
